Eastern Pathways

Editorial policy

Eastern Pathways aims for clear, careful writing about Asian histories, philosophies, languages, arts, and traditions. We value context, distinguish established information from interpretation, and correct the record when we find an error.

Accuracy and context

Writers should check names, terms, dates, translations, and claims against dependable material appropriate to the subject. Articles should make their scope clear, avoid treating Asia as culturally uniform, and distinguish a documented account from an interpretation or a point of debate. Where evidence is incomplete or views differ, the writing should say so rather than imply certainty.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial arrangement. Any paid, sponsored, or partner material is clearly identified as such and kept distinct from independently selected editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee coverage, praise, or a particular conclusion.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, unclear attribution, or misleading description, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and update material when warranted; significant changes should be made clear to readers.

Images and illustrations

Images should support the subject without being presented as documentary evidence when they are illustrative. Some illustrations are AI-generated; where used, they should be identified so readers can distinguish them from photographs or historical images.

Our approach

Context makes a path worth following

Asia holds many histories and ways of thinking, not one story. We place each subject in its particular setting and pay attention to the details that resist easy generalisation.
